Subject: worst 2nd set ever?
But the best (worst) was yet to come. After a raggedy wheel, everything came unglued during Stella Blue (this version of which I have come to refer to as "Schtella Brew"). I don't know if Jerry found his way into some fine Wisconsin lager during the set break or Drums but he sounded drunk, slurring the words. And it wasn't just him. The entire mechanics of the song broke down. I remember trying to decide if it was just me or it was really happening. Then I heard people all around me laughing, it was so bad. They somehow found a way to hang on thru Lovelite and finished soberly with Mighty Quinn.
The following night, the last of the 4-show Alpine run, was epic but I'll never forget 6-22-88, quite possibly the worst live music I'd ever paid to see!
